I think you are talking about the fog lamps :

A search for foglight mod* will bring up a fewthreads, here is FedEx pilots site with the how to :

No problem. The modification is the ramp change ( allows the switch to be pulled out in a location other then the headlamp position ). The ramp inside the switch is the same for both switch types. I am not certain if the Autolamp position allows for the fog lamps to be pulled out ( does that work on yours ? ). If not, you would have to modify the ramp inside the switch, for the auotlamp position.

The splice for the wire, to get power to the fog lamp switch at any time.
Here are the electrical diagrams for the fog lamps.

86-1 shows the MFS ( Multifunction switch ) to the fog lamp relay fuse ( and via DRL , if installed ) The power to the fog lamp switch is only with the MFS in the low beam postion ( which means power has to be to the headlamps ).
Getting power for the input to the fog lamp switch ( White w/ black stripe ) from the parking lamp circuit ( brown wire ) gets power to the fog lamp switch in any position. After the splice, you can remove the 5 AMP fuse in the Central junction Box ( pass compartment ) position 27 if you want. it is no longer in use after the splice from brown to white w/ black stripe jumper is installed.

86-2 shows the actual fog lamp switch and relay operation :

This is what it looks like after the wiring changes on FedEx pilots site :

Let me know if this makes things better or worse.
