Can you describe the running lights ?

To me it can be considered 2 things, and I don't want to make an assumption.

1. Additional Fog / driving lamps ( in addition to the factory fog lamps )

2. Additional parking lamps, as in along the roof of the cab, or along the running boards ( if installed ).

Those are the 2 things that I take running lights to be.

Any spec's on them ( manufacture, model number, AMP draw, etc ) would also help.

yes you can, simply remove the light switch and tap the brown wire on the top left of the switch. I had to do the same to wire the clearance lights on my mirrors, 7 months with no issues. In fact my dealer said the mirrors look like they were installed by a pro.

jmt0645 gave you the correct place to tap them.
Ford does the same thing on the SuperDuty line from the factory ( actually with a splice in the kick panel ) to power them.

Few members on here have added the clearance lamps to the top, maybe try a search on running lights / running lamps, clearnace lamps, roof lights to find the posts ( can't recall when I saw them, maybe 10 + months ago ). Just a thought, if you want some additional threads on the topic.
