Removing trailer hook-up

I've got a 2000 F150 4x4 with the towing package. The previous owner must have backed into something, so the entire bracket where the trailer lines hook up is all bent out of shape and doesn't look good.

My question is how should I go about removing this, and how do I disconnect the wiring? I never have used a trailer and know I will never need to hook one up, so that isn't an issue. I see there is one bolt holding the bracket to the frame which is easy enough, but what should I do about the wiring and disconnecting it? I was thinking maybe tucking it behind the bumper or using some zip-ties to secure it, buy IDK...

just tuck the wiring up out of the way and zip tie it securely. should be at least six bolts holding the receiver to the frame. everything should be where the bumber brackets are.

If you are removing it for good, the connector on the 2001 was up inside the frame rail. Best seen with the tire down.

I have not been under my '01 in quite a while, or my '06 as of late, just check that what is Circuit #57, ground, is on the truck connector side the harness when you undo it. I think it is, but this is the same circuit as the rear lights ( S/T/T & license ) via a splice that changes the black wire on the tail lights to the white one for the trailer tow AWG size.

If you want to, the Part Number is on the diagram, for ordering it from your local dealer or one of the big 3 online places, to return it to stock setup.
