Need Advice Re: Remote Start & Homelink Systems

Hey all,

I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew Lariat that has the Electronic heater system in it. Anyone know (for sure) if the heater will come on ,or stay on if I install remote start? It would be a bit of a waste if I can't get into a warm truck and I spend the $ for a remote start system.

Also,
I have the HOMELINK remote on my visor and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get RF wall switches for my house that would correspond with this remote?

Thanks for any help you've got!!

James

I doubt your remote start system is hooked up to your seat heaters.. Most do not.. As for the homelink stuff.. Go to X10 or radio shack.. All of that stuff will work.. You would need a receiver that plugs into an outlet that would receive from your truck, and a remote for the X10 stuff to program your homelink buttons.. That's how I've done it in the past..

Here are some links to get you started...

http://www.x10.com/automation/rc6500_s.html includes remote and the module to plug in that will receive from the remote and/or homelink..

http://www.x10.com/automation/automation_switches.html automation switched.. I used the wall switch module for our front porch light..

http://www.x10.com/automation/automation_modules.html other modules that you can plug lamps or appliances to...

I have the same truck you do with a ford remote, all you have to do is set it up before you kill it.I set the defost to get the ice off, then switch over when I get in.The Electronic system stays were you last left it setup hot or cold.Works great
