My fiance got me an autostart last christmas for my truck. Now i was supposed to have it installed awhile ago. I recently went to circuit city where it was purchased to inquire on install charge. Kid quoted me $150 if i wanted the auto start and the alarm/unlock &lock function transfered over to the new key fob. I then asked how much just for the autostart installed, he said $100 but that it may also cause problems with the original key fob. The kid said the doors may or may not open unlock all the time.

Is this kid just full of crap? or is he beeing serious?

 

It depends on the truck and the system, so what he said is entirely possible. Do you know if your truck has PATS?

 

i dont think the 97-98's came with PATS, wasn't 99+? The only thing i have on my 98 is the stock unlock/lock alarm.
