Extra harness behind my headlight switch?

so when i was putting the splice on the wires to make my fog lights work without pulling the switch out i noticed a harness that seemed to be doing nothing behind the headlight switch. it had a red cap on it with no apparent wiring coming out of it. any ideas? if a picture is needed i can go take one.

thats exactly what it looked like. did i just miss something or is it really just an empty connection used for something else in a different trim model?

Go to your Ford parts dept and check with them they should have a wireing layout for the headlight switch, also see if it gets any power when the key is turned on or off.I read one that auto makers use the same wireing on all vels and just have to plug in the extra mods for that vel coming off the line ordered.
