Only way I know of is to remove inside door panel;manually position the window. While you're there look around for any mechanical reasons for the malfunction.Doublecheck the electrical connections also.

Which window are you having the problem with ?

Does the other window work correctly ?

The reason I am asking, is if you are having this problem with say the driver's side window, and the pass side works fine from both switches ( driver's & pass switch ), this shows that circuit 400 from the accy' delay relay works correctly, and it is time to look from the switch to the motor.

The other check is, does the radio stay on, after turning the truck off, with all the doors closed ? => This is also on the accy delay relay.

Here are 2 of the pages from the 2001 EVTM for the power windows:

BTW : Did you get your non running fuel pump to run again ( crank-no start issue ). ?

A quick and dirty way, assuming the motor is bad - to test this first, just hit the window switch while watching the interior lights. If the lights are dimming a little every time you hit the switch, then I'll go out on a limb and guess that the wiring from the switch to the motor is okay since the motor is drawing current (disclaimer applies - this is no 100% certain way to diagnose your window motor; there may be other problems that we can't find or see without actually checking powers and grounds).

Now, hold that switch in whatever direction you want the window to go in, and slam the door briskly. Don't kill it, just slam it pretty hard. Sometimes, the windings in the motor develop intermittent opens. A sharp rap may restore contact temporarily, allowing the motor to run.

Any quick answers?

I got the same problem but I know my motor is good. I can hear it. The window is either off the track or something broke. Is there a quick easy way to take the door apart? I haven't done it yet and don't want to screw up my interior.

If you download the PDF install directions from : www.kwmuth.com , you get some good directions on how to take the door apart.

I just did a power window motor removal using this thread :
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=237795

If you have a window that is down, you could either :

1. Disconnect the window from the harness on the inner door skin ( behind the paper liner glued to the door ), and hook a battery directly to the motor. Power one way is up, the other is down ( reverse polarity on a DC motor causes it to run in the other direction ).

2. Drill out the dimples in the door ( as shown in the pictures in the above noted thread ) with a 7/8" hole saw.
2.1. Unbolt the motor
2.2. manually turn the gear for the motor.

If you take apart the door, and peel back the paper, and you can hook the switches back to the harness, and run the power window motor, watching the inside of the window frame. This might help locate the area that you are havng a problems with.

I'm fashionably late to this reply, but your problem is probably a broken window regulator. The driver's side in my truck gave up the ghost about a year ago - I rolled it down and heard a "POP" and the glass fell into the door.

just jumped the motor to my bat.

SSCULLY gave me a great trick to check the motor and get my windows back up. I just jumped some conector wires to the motor and it rolled my window right back up. reverse the conectors on the battery and it rolled it back down. Thanks SSCULLY. Great tip
