How do I re-program the door key pad?

Could anyone tell me how I could go about re-programing the keyless door pad on my F-150 Lariat? I purchased this preowned truck and don't know the factory code or the last programed code. There must be an easy way to clear the key pad and start from scratch. The owners manual states to enter the "factory set code" as the first step to programing the entry code. The manual doesn't seem to list this code anywhere.

Help!

The factory code is different for each truck, it would not be in the manual itself, but there "should" have been a plastic card with it. Guess the PO stashed it somewhere, and did not give it back.

The '03 and older are easy ones to get the factory code.

You will need a flashlight, and be able to lay on your back under the dash.

Position yourself so you can look up under the dash, righ tby the parking brake. You are going to look up and see a white-ish or cream colored unit called a RAP or CSM ( depending on build year ).

You will see the unit with 5 digits on it, that is the factory code :
Here is a picture of the CSM from my '01, but you cannot actually see the code on it ( so the internet does not have the code to get into my truck ).

That is the ratchet mech for the parkign brake in the lower left hand corner of the picture, to give you some idea of where things are when you look up behind there. You are looking up behind the GEM, which is attached to the back side of the Cental Junction Box ( pass compartment fuse panel ).

Once you program the personal code, both the factory code and the personal code will work.

Sounds like you have the procedure from the manual, so this should be everything you need. Let us know if you need somethng else.

Unbelieveable! Thanks for the great info. I'm sure this will save me a lot of time and money at the dealership. I'll check this out and will use the photos you provided to guide me to the CSM. I'm already confident that I'll be able to locate the numbers and will get this key pad re-programed.

Thanks again for the super expertise!

Warmest regards,

Mark

The pics weren't the only thing fake. I pay a staff of 5 to write the posts for me. The only thing I actually post are the LAME jokes like these
