Question Cruise Control Indicator Light

My cruise control indicator light flickers on and off very randomly when
the cruise control is turned off. When the cruise is turned on, everything
works and appears normal. Has anyone else had this problem? Ideas?

Cruise flicker

I started experiencing it flickering just after I had the cruise control recall done on my 2001 f150. The dealer still thinks I am crazy, but what it was doing was it would flicker for a split second at random intervals. Then my cruise stopped working at random intervals, but the flickering went away. Now everything seams to work, and I have not seen it do it again in the limited time I have had it back. If you find out what your problem is, please post.

Someone telling me I am not crazy is a good thing.

A riend of mine had that problem on his f350, It would blink on and off steadily. He took it to the dealer and it turned out that it is a warning light for the trans. He needed a new torque converter.

That wasn't the CRUISE indicator lamp, that was the TCIL (Transmission Control Indicator Lamp) aka the O/D off light located on the end of the shift lever. It has nothing to do with the cruise.

Newer F-series have a CRUISE indicator in the dash cluster to indicate cruise engagement, older ones don't.

Thanks for the replies, if I ever figure it out I will post my learnings.
Don't get too relieved Ruffneck, maybe we're both crazy!
