1998 f150 starting prob

Hello
I just want to make sure I have not forgotten anything.
I drove to work this after noon and everything was fine.
I went out at lunch about 9pm and the truck would not start. it is a 98 f150 4.6l auto trans 4x4.
I noticed the relay on the fire wall clicks and it sounds like the solinoid clicks but it will not turn over.
The batterry is fine about 12.19 v. I tried the ignition bypass of shorting the 2 relay conections but it still would not turn over but still clicks.
I am thinking it is the starter itself but am open to other opinions beforre i go purchase one.
Thanks

It's most likely either a battery connection, cable, or the starter.

BTW, is that battery voltage under load or not. If not, you might have a low battery. Switch on your headlights and see if the voltage stays above 12V or if it drops significantly. If so, then your battery is actually weak or undercharged.

Noticed the neg had some corrosion and was not as tight as it should be replaced the cable and the post clamp . Truck does the same thing. Will probably just put a starter solinoid combo in Monday.
$98.00. Well better than when i had to replace the rear end on my last truck.
Thanks
