dash fire 2003 F150

I was hoping someone could give direction on replacing/repairing the wiring harness on my 03 F150. The radio and hvac contol pigtails and connectors are burned up. There seems to be some other less serious heat and smoke damage to other areas on the harness. I dont know the origin of the fire. Does anyone think this could be spliced and repaired; or would I be better to start with a new/used harness? I have checked with local salvage yards..no luck on harnesses yet. Any other places to check before I go to Ford? Thanks for response

Could this be something that would be covered by insurance? Just a thought.

A short in the system caused the harness to burn up. Buying a new harness might not fix it. It'll problably burn the new one up too. This is serious, I'd take it to the dealer or a professional. And yeah, check to see if insurance will cover it.
