Please help with brake light problem.

Hey all first time posting here but I see everyone is so helpful and lord knows I need your help.

I have a 1998 Ford F-150 4x4 and I'm having a problem with my brake lights. My rear brake lights don't work when I press the brake. But the 3rd brake like in between the cargo light does work.

I have NO idea which fuse it is that might need replaced. I have the pdf manual but none of the fuse locations say "brake lights". Wishful thinking I know.

So PLEASE help and I promise I'll name my next born after you.

thanks so much in advance!

If the 3rd brake light is working, then the fuse is ok.
The problem will either be that both the rear bulbs have blow (unless the indicators still work) or in the multi function switch (indicator switch) as this routes power down to the rear lights and indicators.

HMSL with no corners is usually the MFS.

Pull the column shrouds and instpec the MFS connector for burned/corroded/pushed pins.

If not visible fault is found, replace the MFS.
