odometer light?

The odometer light on my truck works sometimes and sometimes doesnt. If I slap the dash above the light it will bring it back most of the time. Any one know what the problem may be?

I take it you have the digital green that is 1) temperature sensitive and 2) vibration sensitive. My 2000 has this and it only gets worse. Having the a/c on does help, but there is a detailed how to in here if you do a search say odometer. It is a good solution rather than buying a whole new cluster. All you have to do is put a dab of solder on one part of the circuit board. I haven't done it (lazy) but will soon enough.

My old truck the problem had to take out the cluster and reflow the joints with a soldering iron and add some new solder to it and that took care of the problem.
