Remote Starter
Im considering adding a Remote starter and was wanting to know how much if any wire cutting and taping is invoved with the one from Ford?
I turned wrenches for over 15 years before I messed my back up and one thing I never liked to do was to cut into a wire harness.
So Im hopeing for one that can just plug in or replace the remote thats usded now for the door locks.
Any sugguestions would be appriciated.
My truck is a
2006 F-150 XLT 4x4,
Thanks

There is a bit, you would need to have the EVTM and the Ford branded kit.
The other option to save yourself a great deal of time, get a hold of Travis at KCAutosound.com. For 25.00 additional on the CodeAlarm ( the brand that makes them for Ford ) he will pre wire it, and include the diagram. Also you can save a few dollars getting the CodeAlarm branded one, over the Ford ( I found that out the hard way ).
If you already own the Ford one, there are quite a few threads here with the install questions, and tips. Don't forget a PATS bypass if you have a 99+ MY truck.
