Question starting without key

i have a 91 F150 Lariat XLT, when i left 4 college it was running fine. WHile i was away, the valve cover seal went bad and started leaking oil into the spark plugs n fouling them...my parents got it fixed, but now theyve lost the keys. Is there anyway to start and drive the truck without the key? For awhile b4 we were driving it like that bcuz of an ignition issue. We had 2 just touch 2 wires 2 gether 2 get it started. But we still needed the key to change gears. So is there anyways 2 make it work without the key?

I think that year truck has the steering column lock. You will at least need a key to put into the ignition to unlock the steering column. The truck can be started with out a key as you stated. I had to drive my old Trans Am like this.

Disasemble the steering colum cover and you should be able to start and drive your truck with no problem. Ive done this with a few gm models but not ford. After my wifes car got stolen the cops called us and I was able to start and drive my wifes car with a pencil.
