Thanks for the compliment, you've helped me out before back in '02 -'03 I think. That is what we do around here, strangers helpng each other out.
Steve puts his fair time in the barrel as well, along with the moderators, et all.

If nothing else a few weeks back you helped out big time with the humor editor work you were doing, I was having a bad day...until I read that. I got the #7 one straight away, maybe b/c I see the bottle too much

Ya know, sooner or later we're going to have to ask the question about what additional lighting he was hooking up to cause the smoke to roll out of the cab in the first place. Me thinkst that there might have been some problems there too. Could we have been hooking up a "redneck tanning bed" (full rack of 100 watt driving lights on the roll bar) without a fuse, relay, proper wire size etc.? Oh well, I'm sure there was a lesson learned here.

I didn't ask because I have been there, done that.

ROTFLMAO !!!

That was good, I cannot say I have ever heard that one...

I figured we would get there with the checking of the fuses and then the wiring to the BOO switch, if it is not one of the fuses in the BJB, or the new one in the CJB.

The one that really scares me, and I think it could be a bad thing...the Instrument cluster fuse in the CJB has no power ( might be a blown BJB fuse ) , and the instrument lights still work. That just does not sound good, but until we get an answer on the additional fuses and the testing of the BOO switch, if needed, we won't know for sure what is going on.

To be continued once we get some additional feed back on the new testing items / check points.

so after careful inspection of ALL the wires under the dash i did not see any melted wires. my brake lights work and all of my fuses and maxi fuses are ok. all the relays have been tested.

after doing all the tests i could i decided to remove the fuse box under the dash. i inspected it very thoroughly or as much as i could becuase you cannot pull it apart. i inspected area where it was burnt and it didnt look that bad. there is a cover the goes over the pins where the fuses go into so i removed that and i found the pin that i thought i destroyed. i looked at it and i seen it had some suit on it from the wires. i cleaned it off and pushed the 2 tabs that hold the fuse together in closer so they make better contact. i put everything back together and installed the fuse box back under the dash and i made sure nothing was overlooked. after i was sure everything was ok i went under the hood, hooked up the battery and ureka!! EVERYTHING is working. the lights, windows, i can shift out of park with my foot on the pedal. it is working just like it was before my dumb *** mistake. so i think it was not making good contact this whole time and all i needed to do was clean the pin.

i want to thank everyone who has taken time out of their life to help me with my problem. this site is amazing i will definetly suggest to all ford truck owners. if i have any other questions i will come here first. thanks again

Glad to hear all went well in the end. One caution though. If you indeed did fry some connections, you may have burned off the protective plating on the contacts. By cleaning everything and putting it back together, it may work fine, but it may not last. (Then again, it might work fine forever!) If your problem comes back, you'll now know why and what to do to get things back on the road.

Remember the first rule of electricity: "Everything electrical runs on smoke. If you let the smoke out, it won't work anymore."
