Instrument Cluster/ Parking Lamps
2000 Ford Harley-Davidson F150.
I have replaced my headlights with halo projector lights. I took them off because of VA inspections rules. I them put them back, and now my parking lights nor my instrument cluster will come on. I have checked all 5 and 10 amp fuses in the fuse panel, none was broken, I have replaced the headlight switch, still no park lights nor instrument lights. So now I might have to go the dealership for diagnosis. I really do not want to do that. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looking at a 2001 Owners Manual ( only one I have at the moment in PDF ) the instrument panel dimmer power is Central Junciton Box F18, 5 AMPs. This would be the power to the instrument cluster lamps, when you dim or brighten, nothing happens ? How about when you go full up, to the on postion, do the interior lamps and the cargo lamp come on ?
The common fuse to both the cluster lamps and the parking lamps, and Autolamps ( is the truck equiped with AutoLamps ) is Battery Junction Box Fuse #6, 15 AMPs. This feeds the CJB fuse #18. If both are not working, it would seem that BJB Fuse # 6 is blown.
Q1. Is the fuse#6 in the BJB installed corectly ? ( not loose, as in the terminals are warped out of shape )
Q2. If you pull the fuse, and use a meter, is power on one side of the fuse #6 holder ?
Q3. When you install the fuse in the BJB position #6, and check with the meter in the CJB the fuse for F#18, is there power on one side of the fuse holder ?
Those are the starter questions that I can think of. Checking those 2 fuses, and the power on either side of the fuse holder for power are the first steps that I can think of.
Good luck, let us know what the results are.
BJB = Battery Junction Box, i.e. Under the hood
CJB = Central Junction Box, i.e. in the pass compartment.

to sscully: Thank you.
I did replace the fuse #6 (15A) fuse in the battery junction box/ power distribution box. Then I turned on the park lights and they came on. I opened the drivers door and the chime was on. Great.
When I turned on the park lights the headlights would come on. I would raise the dimmer all the way and the interior lights would come on.

Glad it was an easy one, I am not going to be around an EVTM until WED / THUR ( don't bring it out of town with me ).
Enjoy your headlamps back in ( until the next truck inspection time that is
)
