Electric Fans & A/C

In the process of installing electric fans in my 2004 Lariat. I want to trip the fans when the A/C comes on. Does anyone know the wiring where I can do this underhood? A location and wire color would be great. Sourcing some wiring diagrams as well. Thanks

Splice into the wire that powers the A/C Clutch.

Thanks,

I was thinking of doing that, but wasn't sure if the fan would cycle too much.

It will cycle, but when it is needed. IMHO I would not call this too much, but just enough.

The wiring to the a/c clutch is correct and will oonly come on and off when a/c is on and when your predetermined heat setting is on the temp sensor. I have two fans one kicks when the engine hits 160 the other never runs bla bla bla as above. Jusnes is where I got my fans they know how to wire them also summit and jegs have pdf fiiles on almost all of these fans. I love mine even have a manual override switch in cab to override off in case parked etc

You don't have to run a wire all the way to the AC clutch. On the Pax side behind the starter relay on the firewall is the compressor clutch cycling switch. It's the small electric plug with two wires on top of the accumulator / dryer bottle. Tie into the red/yellow wire.

All I did was tie into the signal wire, in this case it was grey with a white stripe. Unlike the supplied instruction pic, I spliced into it underneath the fuse box, and ran it with the wire for ignition, for which there was a tap in the box. My brother was pretty helpful, but I got the ideas for some from searches on here, as well as links. Took a while, but worth the search.

It does run the fans on/off alot in the city with A/C on but don't think so on the highway, you'd hear the clutch too! It makes the A/C pretty cold, and I like that idea.
