My buddy's 99 F150 just had a weird electrical fit. While he was driving the battery light came on. A few minutes later all the dash indicator lights came on. A couple minutes after that the entire dash went dead...gauges, lights, everything. He heard a couple of small clunks come from the engine and then everything went dead. The power steering wouldn't work or anything. Now when we try and start the car it sounds like the battery is dead. Any ideas?

 

If your power steering went out at the same time the dash lights lit up, check the accessory belt, it is common to both.

 

If it's not the belt. Replace the battery and alternator.
