Wimpy horn blues

My horn started making this lame half-assed honk. So, thinking it was the horns themselves, I went out and purchased new horns. Installed them and same thing. I then took and hooked up the horns directly to the battery and damn near went deaf. Cruise control, radio, everything BUT my horn works.

Reading the posts around here it seems the horn relay might be to blame? If so, I pulled the panel on the top of the dashboard to access this…but what am I looking for exactly? How can I test this thing?

You can replace the relay, or just lay on the horn for about 10-15 seconds, then honk it repeatedly. It will probably fix it.

Or just get one of these : www.hornblasters.com Click on videos.

This is my favorite!!!!http://www.hornblasters.com/video.php?pic=42

I don't know, but if you do like I said, it will probably fix it. The relay is probably not making good contact. If you want to find the relay, just unplug your horn (with the engine off) and honk the horn repeatedly. You might be able to hear the relay clicking. Just follow your ears....

Were you able to find a solution to your horn problems? Reason I ask is because today I noticed that my alarm chirp has gotten very weak. Maybe the problem can be contributed to driven through high water with all the rain we've had here in Houston.
