How Do You Reprogram A Keyless Entry To Match Up With Your Truck I Lost The Orignal And Have A New One ,how To You Match It Up To My Truck?

ALthough it looks as if this topic has been beat to death... I am afraid that of the responces to date do not seem applicable to my 95 F-150.

Keeping in mind that I do not have the origional Key fob(lost) I would like to program one I purchased through E-bay.

The instructions for a duplicate do not apply as i do not have the origional

and the cycling the the key 8 times quickly do not seem to work for pre 97 150's.

The instructions received with the replacment fob state to temporaraly jump the pins on the programming plug located at the base of thew steering column(which I can not find). I had assumed that plug would not be occupied/ connected.

Obviously I am missing something.
Any help would be appreciated.

 

Never mind I found it. It(the plug) is grey on a 95 and not exacly where explained in previous posts.

 

How can I find out if my 1995 XLT has keyless entry? I just purchased it and it just came with keys.

Cycle the key as described. If the lights don't flash as described, you don't have factory RKE.
