Interior Lights

Hey I Was Wondering If Anyone Knows The Reason Why My Inside Lights Don't Light Up When I Open My Doors And The Bell Doesn't Ring When The Doors Are Open & The Key Is In The Ignition. The Lights, Themselves, Are Fine Because I Can Turn Them On Manually. My Truck Is An 01 F150 Xcab 4x4 Xlt 5.4. Any Info Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Some of the older trucks have a problem with the switch not working.

The threads that I can recall on the topic, all said to spray the snot out of the door latch, and work it a few times. After this, the door switch would start working again. These were more along the lines of the door ajar and dome lights NOT going out, but it might be worth a try, prior to digging into this.

Just for the heck of it, why not give a try to see if it fixes the reverse problem, if not..we will have to dig into the wiring to try to see what is going on.

I don't want to send you off on a wild goose chase, prior to trying the easy fix.

Here is one of the threads, which has pictures:
