Couldn't find a related thread so here goes. 2000 F150, 126k miles. On the wiper drive mechanism between the motor and each wiper is an actuator assembly of sorts that has I think 3 maybe 4 nylon ball sockets. The one that attachess to the motor drive is shot. Can these be purchased seperately. Dealer sais people swap out the assembly. I won't for a $5 plastic part. Last year I had to hit it with a mini butane torch and reshape it around the ball to fix it in a pinch and it lasted a year or so. This is the only socket of them that has any wear.

Well, the Ford parts department confirms that the nylon bushing is a non-servicible item requiring replace of the complete assembly including motor to the tune of $184. Come on, get real! All for a $2 part that probably cost Ford $.12 ea. by the millions. Ended up making one out of brass pretty easilly from a fitting I had hanging around. I will say that the modular design makes it easy to get at and service.
