Noise coming from dash

Got a question. I have an 03 F150. I started to hear what I believe to be a motor coming on somewhere in the dash on the passenger side. It will start and run about 15-20 seconds. It has done it right after I turn the truck off and while I am driving. It almost sounds like a motor to a small air compressor (like one you would plug into your cig lighter for a bicycle tire).

I would like to know if this is normal and why or do I have a problem. I just bought the truck in Oct.

Hope someone can help.

I'm not sure where the electrical system cooling fan is located in your truck, but mine is closer to the driver's side. I hear it when I use electrical power, ie. radio, when I have the key turned on, but engine off. It also runs for a few seconds whenever I shut the engine off.

At least that's what I presume the sound is in my truck.
