2001 Taurus door keypad

I know this isn't for an F150, but you guys have helped me with my truck before so I thought maybe someone might have an answer. On my wifes 2001 Taurus, it has the keypad on the driver door for unlocking the door. We bought her car used and the dealer didn't know the keycode and it wasn't a ford dealer so they said they couldn't reset it. Anyway, the dealer wants like $65 to reset it and I thought I would check here and see if anyone knows how to reprogram it without taking it to the dealer. Thanks in advance for any help.
Kurt

On the f150, the factory code is on a sticker under the dash. Did you check there?

YOu can only reset it with the computer that they have to do it with, and thats probably more than $65. The codes stopped being placed on the car and began being computer internal in the early 2000's. $65 is actually cheap, my dealer gets $85

According to the 2000 Taurus owner's manual

Your vehicle has a factory-set 5–digit code that operates the keyless
entry system. You can also program your own 5–digit personal entry
code.
The factory-set code is located:
˛ on the owner’s wallet card in the glove compartment
˛ taped to the computer module
