Battery Problem
I have a f-150 the and the battery want stay charged.I got the alternater tested and its good and i just had a new battery put in. I've check all of the fuses and they are good. If there is anything else that you know might be the problem i would appreciate if you would tell me
The problem is excess current drain.
The charge circuit or some other area of the truck's electrical system is the cause.
First place to work with is the chargeing system.
If you have an external regulator, it could cause this problem.
A way to begin is test the system for charging. The voltage should be at least 15 volts just after starting and reduce to about 13 volts as the battery recovers it's charge. If this is happening that's fine but the drain problem can still be the charge circuit after the engine is shut down.
To check this, remove the plug and heavy charge lead from the alternaor and use a lamp about the size of a parking lamp connected in series with the heavy charge lead while the engine is off and the battery is in a reasonable state of charge. If it lights up to good brillance you have found your problem; it's the charge circuit; otherwise you have to begin to look elswhere for the drain using about the same procedure with the lamp in series with the positive battery cable until the lamp fails to light when the problem has been opened up.
Good luck.

battery want stay charged
On my 98 had the same problem there is a box (nameon it is the Primary Battery Fuse) on the fire wall behind, and in between battery and the alternater you need to have it check.
