I have a 99 Expy and I'd like to have my fog lights come on with the parking lights. I did the search on this site on this topic, but its instructions for 2001 and up. I didn't realize that when I tried doing it and blew 2 fuses! So if anyone could tell me what wires need spliced to make this work, I'd greatly appreciate it!

This is the first time no one chimed in and gave me any pointers!! I find it hard to believe that no one out there has tried this! Maybe I'm not getting enough people to see this thread....but I'm not sure where to put it so that its seen though.

 

I'm not sure what those instructions said but all you would need is a relay. I think someone also did a jump at the light switch.

 

Remove the connection to the Fogs at a point you can connect the lights to a relay.
Wire 'fused' power to the relay to feed the Fogs.
Ground one winding side and connect the other to one of your parking lamp power leads.
Use proper size wire and fuse for about 10 amps "at the power source" to protect everything.
That's all there is to it.

 

Not sure what to tell you. I'd double check your install on the jumper wire. I've heard of this happening once or twice before but, hundreds upon hundreds of folks have done it (me included on my 2001)...
