Dome Light and Windshield Wiper Problem
Dome Light and Windshield Wiper Problem
Here's the problem: Put a new headliner in my truck (97 F150) and while my friend was putting the dome light back on, he put a screw in a hole it didn't belong and shorted something out.
Found a blown fuse under the dash and one more under the hood. Replaced all of these and still don't have a dome light working or wipers. My question is how did the dome light take out the wipers too?? I thought they would be on a completely different cirtcuit and all.
Anyways, I replaced all of the blown fuses I could find, unless someone knows of some hidden ones that might effect this. Put new wiper relays in, but that didn't work, so I returned them. But I found another blown fuse after returning the relays. So the relays could still be the problem, but I'm trying to make sure I can narrow it down as much as possible before I go back and try the relays again.
All of the fuses under the dash are good. The fuses in the fuse box under the hood are good, and there are two other fuse boxes behind the main one under the hood, with all good fuses, after replacing one blown one. This is on the driver side of the truck. A total of three boxes, if that helps any. Are there any other fuses somewhere that would effect either the light or the wipers?
I wouldn't mind it so much if my light didn't work, but my wipers did, but it's hard to drive in the rain without windshield wipers. lol Luckily it hasn't rained yet since my friend blew them.
Thanks in advance,
BT

Just wanted to bump this thread up one more time. Any help would be appreciated.
Kind of a weird problem and I'm sure there's not a simple thing to fix on it, but who knows.
