hi to you all. I'm an italian mechanic, and I deal with the electric and electronic part of cars. Now I have a F150 with a block, so that it can't go more than 100 miles per hour. does someone know a way to remove it? or how to find an electronic center to simply avoid the problem? in italy it doesn't exist...

Hi, I believe you are talking about the speed limit on the PCM? That is the programming in the computer that will not allow the speed of the truck to exceed 100 MPH?

If so, the best way to remove it is to get a Tuner and remove the settings yourself.

If you are working on the truck for someone else, that would be most likely a Ford dealership job.


The New Model Ford with its drive by wire setup is CAN bus, but even though that sort of programmer is more common in Europe than the US, the actual settings are pretty much a Ford proprietary setup.

Everything is computer controlled on the new Ford, the throttle, the transmission shift points, the timing. A tuner (Superchips/Diablo Predator/XCal/Hypertech etc. are a must for any sort of power improvements or limit changing.

To get a tuner that will remove the speed limiter, plus allow you to make many changes to the trucks performance, just search for;

Diablo Predator

Or

Superchips

There are others.

You might be best off with the Diablo Predator, which can be 'updated' over the web, and will allow you to turn off several US required smog functions that you might not be required to have in your location.


There are hundreds of vendors that sell them on the web, plus many that will ship worldwide.
