Alt. / Battery probs.

Yesterday, the nut on the front of my alt. pully fell off and it started making a clicking sound...very bad....got it home and found the nut and put it back on....i noticed my battery light was on.So today i take the alt. in to be tested and it started making that clicking sound again, dude said THAR'S YA PROLLEM !!!!.....it scared him is why i reckon he said it so loud ...anyway, i put the new alt on tonight and my battery light is still on and the lights keep getting dimmer...anyone have any ideas ? Its a 98 ford f-150 xl..i checked some fuses under the hood...althought some of them was clear and HUGE...they was fine...and the others was clear and small...they was fine as well. I didnt check any under the steering wheel up front, so i dont know if there's any kind of fuse for that in there....is there ?

Thanks in advanced as i'm ready to take a can of gas and a match to it.

Well now lemme see heear.
If ma memory serves me right recken there is a huge 175 amper fuse in line to the battery and a smaller 20 amper in an inline holder.
I sure would look at them before gettin to close to that gas can man.
There thares a voltmeter to see how far that juice is a gitten.
Good luck man.
