'97 with no blower fan.
I had my a/c on yesterday and smelled something warm, the my blower fan quit. I have pulled the fan switch out of the dash after checking all the fuses that have anything to do with the blower. Does anyone know how to test this switch? Also, how can I test the blower without digging it out of the dash? Can 12v be applied to any of the fan switch contacts to turn the fan on, or are there relays being driven by the switch? I did also swap the fan relay with the turnsignal relay and it still does not work.
Thanks Matt

Theres a 4 lead resistor assembly usually found in the duct work to keep it cool by the blower air.
You might pull it put and take a look.
One of the leads should be an orange/black. If you ground that lead the blower should run full speed and would tell you if it's the blower, the resistor or the switch.
Could even be a wire that has burnt open.
There's a lot of power being used in this circuit.

I saw the size of the fuses when I check them, I was suprised at the amount of current involved to run the fan.
Does anyone know if the dropping resistor is located physically near the fan, I see that I can remove the fan fairly easily. It appears to be right about the passengers foot pointing down.
Thanks Matt
