I've go a 97 f150 and the hazard light doesn't operate when activated. Is it a relay issue and if so which one? My truck is overdue on inspection because I can't figure it out and Ford Service over the phone has been no help.

 

The contacts in the multi function switch are more than likely gummed up/worn out. Try wiggling the hazard button around to see if you can get the lights to flicker; failing that, a shot of brake clean (preferably some that evaporates on contact) tends to get them working temporarily.
