problem with my 4.2l
I have an electrical problem with my 97 F-150. When I start the truck the temp gauge goes all the way up, the oil pressure gauge goes up then back to nothing the fuel gauge does the same and the voltmeter goes all the way up.

Since you got no replies, I will coment that the dash has electronics, a voltage regulator etc.
Since all your gauges are being affected, it is something common to all.
The Haynes book page 12-30 shows the dash drawing and a solid state device controlling all the indicators you mention.
Guess you know what that means.
