Overcab lights/wiring
Overcab lights/wiring
I have overcab lights on my truck now run through an auxiliary switch. I want to wire them to turn on with the parking lights. Keeping in mind that I am not very electrically inclined here, can I just splice into the parking light wire, then an inline fuse, and then the lights.
If somebody tells me to just wire it into the fuse box, then I need to know how the heck I do that. Thanks.

Hey,
I just installed cab light on my 1995 truck. I bought the lights, individual light wires, and harness from Ford.
I removed the trim panel from the instrument cluster. Next, I removed the light switch form the dash. With the parking lights on, I located the wire that turned them on and a multimeter.
After experimentation, I discovered that I needed to tie into the parking light wire from the switch to 1 of the wires from the harness. Then ground the other wire from the switch to a suitable ground (not the switch).
Works great, looks cool.
