Childproof locks

What the hell is up with my rear child proof locks. They will engage by themselves. Everytime Someone trys to get out they cant. I always put the switch down to the unlock position but it goes to lock by itself. The book says nothing about it. Help please ? Thanks

I don't know about your SUV but my 02 super crew has special switches in the doors, to stop that action.
My manuel pages 101 and 106 on handling the auto lock functions.
You may get some info from a dealer.

Two things.
There may be seat sensors that are doing it and you should be able to program the feature out.
My driver's seat has a sensor I found out about one day while putting pressure on the seat from outside the truck.
The lock feature in my truck will activate at speed over 5 mph unless I program it out.
May be you don't have all the later features or there is a minor problem.

We don't have child locks (AKA squad car locks) on our F-150's

Are you talking about child locks where you can only open the door from the outside? OR Auto locks where it locks as soon as you start to roll and can only be opened either by the inside or by unlocking the door?
