"help" Wiring on back of switch
OK..I've got the valance and lights installed...I had the plugs already under the truck...The foglight relay was in its postion as needed..the 15 amp fuse under the hood was there as well..the 5 amp fuse was in the fuse block under the dash..Ive changed out to the pull switch..But still no foglights will come on...Looking at the back of the switch the white w/black wire is missing in the terminal block for the switch and the red w/blk..can someone help please...there is another capped off connector right there but i was thinking that was for the daytime running lamps...help needed..looking for the light ...Bill

I did this install in my2001 supercrew with no problem. I have a 01 wiring diagram that i would think is the same the plug at the headlt switch has 12 conectors two rows of six numbered from right to left #1 top right is open no wire # 2 WHITE/BLACK powe coming from 5 amp source #3and 4 open no wires #5 should have power when fog lt switch is pulled on #6 black ground #7 not used #8 hot all times 9 on with headlight #10 hot all times #11 to gem module #12 Exterior parking lights.
Get a test light and check these conections If the #2 is missing check the harness close to the conection may have gotten taped in during wiring manufacturing. If this is the only wire missing find a conecter and add the wire. I can't believe that ford would make a hrness and leave this out. Hope this helps As I say this is from a 01 diagram one fuse is under the hood and one under the dash also make shure you are looking at the correct relay position they can be confusing als swap relay maybe it is bad or youre new switch could be bad. Does the yellow indicator lt come on???

Thanks for the reply...I have the new switch loose in the dash so it's easy to get to until i finish up...I went and checked..I dont have the yellow wire coming out of the switch...the only thing thats is close to looking like the white/black is dark blue with a white stripe and it is over on the other smaller plug...No the little yellow indicator light doesnt come on either...ive checked the fuses and i have an extra relay so i have moved it around..still no luck....im not an electrical person by a long shot but what i believe i am missing is the yellow off of the #12 slot to the relay and the white/black to the 5 amp fuse...i agree with you 100% i cant believe those wires arent right there in that bundle somewhere...you explained the wiring #'s on the plug is that with the clip up reading right to left and then across? I know im close to getting it done..but im still alittle in the dark...what is the little plug hooked up in the switch hole going nowhere, autolights? the only thing close to being yellow in that bundle in kinda off white....
Yes the wiring diagram shows with the clip up rt to left top row 1-6 secondrow 7-12 look close at plug or switch yhey may have numbers. the auto lt module is on the passenger side top of dash under the bannana shaped piece of plastic near the windshield.
Look carefuly for a nother plug you may want to take a razor blade and cut back the tape and look for the wires you are missing. the black white comes from the #2 fuse at the potom of dash and goes up to the switch. the yellow heads out to the #1 terminal of the fog lt relay
give me a detailed discription of that other plug and I will try to figure it out.;

Thanks, Ive pulled the tape back as far as i can reach and i dont find the wires. I did test the switch and the positons you described did not have wires in them. Im going to look and see what its is going to take to get into the fuse box and get this finished up..I found the ford aftermarket wiring harness and looked at it, it has the two wires from the switch end but i cant buy it in pieces. I have got 145,000 miles on that 2002 truck and it goes in the shop for its first set of rear brake pads tomarrow. Russell the fellow who is the electrician promised he'd get a look at it and if all it needed was 2 wires...he's going to throw them in with the brakes..Thanks..Ill keep you informed.
