wiper problems

First poster but long time lurker.

I have a 93 F150 with wiper problems. When I turn on the wipers either full or intermitent, they don't come on. I have to wiggle the turn signal to get them to come on. I can hear clicking coming from the passenger side under the dash when I do this. Seems like a short somewhere. There seems to be no common position where the wipers will work, I just have to wiggle around and turn the dial to get them to finally come on.

Anyone with any fix ideas? Or do I need to replace the entire turn signal?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any idea to help me out. We just got dumped on with snow.....it's a real @$%@! to see out the windshield!

I have no idea on how to remove the wiper control or where to even start. I looked in the Haynes manual and its not much help.
