Auotmatic lights not working
Auotmatic lights not working
My wife informed me that yesturday the automatic lights on my 2001 supercrew stopped working. The lights work when the switch is moved toeh "lights on" portion but not when they are on the "automatic" portion. Any ideas?
This is a shot in the dark, but your "autolight" function involves using a relay which I believe is located in the fusebox under dash or in the fusebox under the hood on the driver's side. I may be wrong because I don't have my owners guide with me right now. The autolight function may even have its own fuse. There will probably be other responses to your thread so keep watching for it. It's possible that the relay is either loose and not making good connection or it may be internally bad. If it has it's own fuse, check it out. Or your light sensor could be bad. Keep checking back on your thread for other responses, I may be COMPLETELY wrong!
I guess I should also point out that the relay above will make a "ticking" sound (if it's working) whether it's turning on or off. You can try to listen for it by trying to make your lights come on automatically. However just because you don't hear it does not necessarily mean the relay is bad, there may be other causes.
