I have a 97 f150 it has power mirrors and the little **** thingy wont move them i have to row the window down and push them were i wont them.

 

Sounds like your mirror switch is bad. Easy to replace, and cheap.

 

check the fuses first.

 

Listen carefully to the actuator for the mirror when you use the power mirror control in an attempt to move mirror. Do you here the actuator trying to move the mirror? If so, the mirror control devie may be bound BEHIND the mirror.

 

it doesnt make any noise at all y ou just hit the switch and it doesnt do anything

 

My 1999 just did a similar thing--pressing the **** to the right doesn't move the mirrors, but other directions are working so they're not bound up, it seems. Guess I need a new switch--how exactly do I replace it?

Never mind--should have read earlier reply to Zaairman's message. Said try contact cleaner first, if no help, replace the switch (instructions provided by member!)

Squirted in some contact cleaner, let sit 30 seconds. No luck. Pulled switch as directed in previous messages, looked at contacts (which looked good to me), plugged switch back together and worked fine!

You gotta love this site!
