Air Bag warning light
Air Bag warning light
It was a rainy day! I had changed my oil & lube job and during the road test strange things started to happen.. first the speedo quit working (uh). then after I shut the engine off the fan on the heater kept running I manually shut it off. Next morning still no speedo but the fan is OK, after work that night I go out to find the fan motor is running and a beeping noise? I take a drive around the block, the speedo is OK but the Air Bag light started to flash and stayed on, today all is OK, but that darnned old Air Bag light won't go out, I guess it's off to Ford today, unless someone has some suggestions.

The only thing that I can think of that all these componants have in common is the ignition switch. Have the dealer check out the Air bag light and that should lead them to the rest of the problems.

Check for water in the back of the fuse panel. The GEM module is located there. That would explain all the weird electrical gremlins. The air bag light might be a separate concern. If the light is flashing, it is giving a code. These will be two-digit codes. For example, the light will flash three times, pause, and flash two times. Code 32. This code means high resistance in the driver's side airbag. Most likely cause, the air bag sliding contact behind the steering wheel. Hope this helps. Oh, the water leak is from the windshield. A local glass shop comes out and reseals them for us at work.
