Hello all, first post here.

After ten wonderful years in my '95 Ranger I recently upgraded to an '05 F150. One thing I do *not* want to repeat on this new truck is the constant replacement of the fog lights! I had to replace them four times on the Ranger, and it's rediculous! Most of the time the damage is caused by the damn gravel trucks on the freeway.

I've seen some posts here about putting on 3M tape, but no hints where to get it. I've also seen a commercial product that works basically the same way (can't remember the brand atm).

What I think would look nicer is some kind of mesh cage that protects the light, but I'm open to any and all suggestions!

i've seen people use the wire mesh on them for protection. mine are aftermarket KC's so they came with gaurds on them - not show here -

you might be able to put a couple layers of clear strapping tape or something similar on the lense to take the initial impact. when it gets dinged up, pull it off and put on a new strip.

Do you know where the mesh grill can be purchased? I don't think putting any kind of tape on the the lamps will give them the kind of protection I'm looking for. When the foglights on my Ranger were damaged, it wasn't just a crack or a chip, it was total shatter and 90% + loss of glass. This happened to both foglights, several times.
