04' F-150 Battery Charging Problem Already????

Hey Guys!
So I have an 04' Screw and Im having the strangest problem with the battery ( i think?) already... The truck hasnt started ( dead battery?) 4 times now! The first time, i had left the hazards on for only like 15 minutes tops, and then the battery went dead... In fact, the last time it happened, I didnt appear to have left ANYTHING AT ALL on! I drove the truck about 15 minutes to a jobsite, and 2 hours later when it was time to pack up and head home ( dark and damn cold might i add...) the truck wouldnt start! Had to get a jump from a friend i called... Hmmmm.. Are these "heavy duty" batteries just crap or is there some kind of charging problem with the 04' f-150s? The problem is very errativ though, sometimes starts, sometimes doesnt... Should I buy a battery charger and charge it up or are there any other effective tests I can run? All input is appreciated!!! Thanks guys

listing to the raidow for 30 min with the engine off run my battery down, Turns out my alternator needs to be replaced. When you get the time to go to your dealer, they should kow to check batt. calbes, starter, voltage regulator and they sholud put a draw on your charging system when the engine is running.

my battery is only rated at 650 cold cranking amps, ( for warm climates this might do, coldder climates, I would upgrade to a beetr battery, poss die hard fom Sears ) so unless specified Ford batterys are not heavy duty.

If you add aftermarket eqipment to your f-150, upgrade your battery.

Any part can fail at anytime even from new.
With situations like this the service should include a complete checkout to be sure the problems are taken care of.
All to often it is just piece meal and ends up biting a second and thrid time.
Check battery capacity, alternator output, all cables and connection and last, a drain test from the rest of the truck.
In a resting condition the draw from the PCM, any memory and other devices will show and need to be referenced against service infor for that truck.
Any truck's battery will run down over a peroid on months if left set without running from these normal resting drains.
