Stock stereo skips time on my CD's

'03 F150 with the CD player and cassette player in one unit stock. Sounds GREAT. Best sounding stock stereo I've heard yet. But I guess I can't have it all... cuz the damn thing skips ahead on me.

I'll explain - Every time I mute the CD, or turn it to FM or AM or cassette, or when I turn the power off to the stereo, or turn the ignition off, whatever CD is in there, it'll skip ahead 14-17 seconds every time. Consistently. Every time. My Kenwood 6-disc CD changer in my Bronco (Gawd bless it's soul) never did this. I pause it, it's exactly where I left the song. I get out of my truck to head into work, and it's exactly the same spot in the song when I drive home. But not this stock stereo. I cannot believe that this is a design intent. I cannot believe that Ford would make a stereo that can't keep its place on your CD, even when PAUSING!

Tell me I've just got a goofy stereo. Tell me I can just go to the dealer and say swap this sumbitch. Cuz if it's this way on everybody's, I'm gonna slap someone at the big glass building....
