I need help i have a 1997 f 150 xlt ext cab my problem is the switch in the door for the int lights works half the time the other half the int lights stay on for 20 min until the power saver feature activates any suggestion on how to replace the switch or to disable it i took the panels off but cant seem to get to the switch itself please help
This is a common problem for any vehicle with the switch in the latch. Have you tried spritzing it with some WD-40 or PB blaster, and cycling the latch a few times, to get the crud out?? This solves it most of the time...

dragonslayer,
Soak it with WD-40, read that as soak it, I mean really wet it down, don't just give it a shot, make it wet, a 4 or 5 second spray through the opening in the end of the door, on all the latch components.
Have done this on numerous trucks and it will correct the problem for six months to a year.
