Thanks for the info...it did the trick

I too had the same problem with my '93. Due to the notorious history of this part on other Fords, I'd changed the headlight switch and harness (it look completely cooked...more of a safety precaution) and still had problems. To my surprise, the Auto Zone up the street had the part (SW1094) for $46.99. Voila!

Glad to hear that both of my diagnosis did the trick. I guess working on these things for years has its advantages. Sometimes it's not that easy though, I think that's why I don't have much hair left

Installed the new headlight switch last night and the parking lights came on by themselves (without the headlights) - great!!! However the new switch did not fix the problem with the one foglight not working.

Got up this morning to head to work and dangit the headlights are coming on again in the parking light mode!!!!

WTF!!!!!

Is it possible I am having something ground out that is messing up the switch???? I hope a just didn't screw up a new $60 switch, but it looks like I did.

Next step is I am going to undo the foglight mod (splicing of wires behind the switch) and recheck all of the fuses and see if that helps.

Was your truck equiped with fog lights from the factory? What all did you do for the fog light mod?

No, I had the dealer install the L front end when I ordered the truck, however, as far as I know, the wiring was in place already. They have worked fine for 4 years, except for a blown fuse or bulb here and there.

The foglight mod I am referring to is the one that allows you to run the fogs in the parking and auto lamp modes and also allows the foglights to stay on whwn the brights are on. It was posted somewhere on here as a DIY project. Again, this is not something I just did and started having problems - I did the mod about 3 years ago.

could be that the connections that were made are starting to get some corrosion, or the wire stands are breaking. I would def. check the fog light mod connections that were made.

I just hope I don't have to spend $60 on ANOTHER headlight switch.
