Various Electrical Issues (?)
Various Electrical Issues (?)
2000 XLT SCab, 75000 mi.
Ailments: no cruise, no horn, no door lock/unlock, passenger airbag light illuminated in incorrect position, no third brake light, ABS failure light illuminated.
Is she just trying to tell me something or can these possibly be interrelated? Can I expect an onslought of additional electrical issues?
May be unrelated, but the starter relay went out yesterday.
I read a little about a clockspring behind the airbag possibly causing the cruise & horn issues, but unsure about others.
Anything safety critical that must/should be rectified immediately? Lack of horn is the only one that bothers me periodically.
Basically no wrenching ability on my end; anything would be done in a shop or at the dealer.
Thanks!

Did this happen after a heavy rain or car wash? If so check the GEM module (it's on the back side of the fuse panel) to see if it got wet. If so, pull the driver's side a-pillar trim off and run water around the windshield. I have seen some leaky windshields play some really funky games with the electronics on these things. If it got wet, there is a service message from Ford to replace the GEM and the fuse box
