Parking Lights wont shut off!!!

I have a 97 F150 ext cab 4x4,for some reason the parking lights and the dash lights decided to stay on after i turned off the lights. The only way to get them off is to pull the relay under the hood.Till the next time i turn the lights on,then i have to do the same to get them off. I even unplugged the light switch, the parking lights stay on but the dash lights go out. Please help!!!

So are you saying that once you pull the relay the lights go out and you can plug the relay back in and the lights stay out? This sounds to me like the relay is maybe sticking. I am not sure if the relays are mechanical or electrical but that might be worth checking. Normally there is another relay in the box that is the same that you can swap out to see what the effects are. If this is not the case I would then suggest looking at the switch. If you have a test light or multimeter I would check all the leads and see if that tells you anything (I would think there should only be one that has a positive voltage when the switch is off).

I just read the post again and you say that after disconnecting the switch the lights stay on which again makes me think the relay is sticking...

Sorry this isn't much help but good luck!!!

Try pulling the relay and turning on and off the lights. Do they work normally?

I changed the relay and it does the same thing.Im using a multimeter and the brown wire has 12v when the switch is on,and 10v when it is off. i checked the ground and it is good. Now,when i pull the relay, the lights seem to work normal, coming on and going off with the switch...

Do you have a brake controller installed?
If so unplug it and see if the lights function properly. If not check the harness and the 7 pin trailer plug for shorted wires. has any addon wiring been done for accessories?
