Headlight Switch

Is there someone out there that has a diagram of the pinout of wiring for the headlight switch. I wish to run all seperate switches for each function.

Hey Nash.... this is probably really off base for you, but with 21 'looks', I thought I'd add it. This is of course provided you have the factory fog lights in the bumper. If you are only wanting to use the functions independently, this is a good mod. However, the parking lights will always be on. You can run parking lights / fog lights, parking lights / head lights, parking lights / headlights / fog lights, and you can run the fog lights with high beams. Basically, you are adding the fogs to come on almost anytime you want them on. I've ran this for about 3? years now. I get several looks with the head lights off (especially when it's all cleaned up). I love it, and I've had no adverse effects such as blown fuses. My truck is a 2000, and, believe it or not, I just changed the first light bulb ever about 3 weeks ago (left cargo light)! I bought it with 93 miles on it, and I just rolled 82,000 today.

Now, a word to the warning... Be sure to use a towel under a thin common screwdriver when you pop the switch out. I put a small scratch on my dash panel, but you have to LOOK for it. Also, when you pop the plastic welds off of the switch, naturally you have to put it back together. I used some quick set JB Weld.... hasn't come loose so far.

If worse comes to worse and you still need the diagram, you could pop out the switch and take note of which wire goes where... I don't even think my Chilton's manual has a "diagram" of it, but I will try to remember to look for it.

Like I said this may not be what you are looking for, but it's a start..... If this function isn't what you are looking for, or is no help to you, I apologize for the lengthy post.

Good Luck!

headlight switch.

No, thats OK. I found the problem last night, but I still would like to make the seperate switch mod. I had copied this from and older thread like monthes ago, but my computer crashed and I lost it. The info I got from another member had all the color codes of all the wires and with all their functions.

So you're still needing the schematic?

I have it at home...

Well, I have one that's relative to the wiring harness that comes into the switch... would that work?
