head light problem

head light problem
my dad has an 1990 f150 XLT
he had an wire burn up going from the head light switch going to the rear lights
he also had to change the pigtail and switch for the headlights
now when he turns on the head lights, they are the only ones to come on all of the other ones go out rear and front parking lights(?)
we have to move the switch i just a little for the parking lights to come on, then the head lights go out
this is using 3 different switches(SW-2103)
when looking at the pigtail wires they were install color coded
any help would be aprecided
