Ignition noise on cb

I have a 1999 F150 and recently installed a cb. There was a substantial amount of ignition noise, so I put in a supressor on the power side of the radio and it works fine, however when I apply the braked on the truck the noise level jumps about 25 db. Has anyone heard of this and what was the fix? Im not sure whats happening and it would be great if someone had an explaination.

The only thing I can even think would be a possibility is that some of your wiring passes near the brake system. I don't know where you're wiring is but a lot of people use the steering column to pass wires through the firewall into the cab. That is also near your brake system. Maybe you're getting interference from your brake booster. My only recommendation would be to reroute your wiring away from the brakes and see if that helps.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Im pulling power from the fuse box and it is very near the brake system. You may have something. I think I'll try routing power on a shielded cable straight to the battery and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

You may also try a different location for your ground. Make sure you have a good metal-to-metal connection.
